pls help . I have a golf 4 1.9 tdi year 1999 automatic and have a problem with gearbox . It goes into 1st and 2nd gear fine, but for 3rd, 4th gears sometimes doesn’t change and when change the car shakes. I’ve changed the oil transmission and also the filter but no change.
Feb 28, 2015. #11. spiksander: short answer to all of your problems: 1) replace your Fuel filter, clean the fuel filter canister. 2) ask dealer and pay them the money to have your ECU software updated to the latest "9971" version. Older versions are known to cause the problems you describe.

Location. MA. TDI. ex- 1996 wagon, ex-2000 Jetta. Jan 16, 2010. #2. Mr. Turbo, that battery doesn't sound correct and I doubt VW under-specs the cars sent to Oz. In NAmerica, we call the battery a 94R. You may be forced to visit your main dealer to get the correct battery with adequate performance.
